Ireland 2024 & 2025
“For me, Ireland is the island to take a deep breath, to unwind and simply switch down a gear. Gentle, green hills hide many a historical treasure and majestic caves lie beneath them. I love this rough landscape with its old castles and ruins. While hiking, I can easily imagine why this is supposed to be the home of fairies and other little spirits. I even find this almost magical flair in the lively streets of the towns. I particularly love Waterford at night. That’s when the lights of Ireland’s oldest city are reflected in the water and cast a wonderful spell. You too will discover the aura of the island in every corner. I’m sure you will. Ireland is not just beautiful. There is something indescribable about it, something you have to experience.
By the way: your tour of Ireland can start at home. Depending on where you are departing from, we will also plan and organise the route and your accommodation in the transit countries up to your destination.”

Cultural Ireland
Ireland is not only characterised by millennia of history, but also by mystical legends and countless traditions that originated here and have spread around the world. This shows just how special and fascinating the culture of the Emerald Isle is. Who doesn’t immediately have the sounds of Irish folk in their head when they think of Ireland? Irish music dates back to Celtic times, which is why it is unmistakably characterised by original instruments such as the fiddle or the flute. During your tour of Ireland, music and dance will accompany you right down to the smallest village – just like the festivals and customs that still play an important role in Irish life today.
Take a journey back to the Stone Age in the east of the island. Along the River Boyne you will find Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, three graves dating back 5,000 years. Hardly less mystical and shrouded in legend is the Hill of Tara with its burial mounds or the Trim Castle, which has been the setting for famous films for good reason.
In “Dublin’s Fair City”, you can follow in the footsteps of Oscar Wilde and James Joyce, marvel at the library in Trinity College or simply immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of Grafton Street. But Ireland’s smaller towns such as medieval Kilkenny or the relaxed harbour city of Cork are also part of your tour of Ireland and will cast a spell over you.Experience nature in Ireland
The rough beauty of Ireland is revealed to you on hikes in the Wicklow Mountains, when exploring the dropstone cave Dunmore Cave and of course on the Giant’s Causeway. The Knockmealdown Mountains or the Ring of Kerry offer wonderful views of a true postcard Ireland on a round trip in a hire car or your own car.
Sometimes the small, narrow roads lead you past lush green hilly landscapes and hidden gardens that invite you to dream. Sometimes it’s over breathtaking mountain passes or steep cliffs with the roaring ocean below. On the Cliffs of Moher, you will forget the world around you, so captivating is the natural spectacle on the famous cliffs – certainly one of the highlights of your car hire tour of Ireland.
Ireland's culinary treasures
Ireland’s cuisine is often seen in the tradition of poor people’s food. During your visit to Ireland, you will discover that this down-to-earth tradition can be very tasty and not at all poor. In addition to the famous Irish stew, more recently it has been fish and seafood in particular that tantalise the palate here. Smoked wild salmon, oysters and lobster also impress gourmets. Meat lovers can look forward to fine lamb and tender Angus beef. “Back to the roots”, on the other hand, with Soda Bread, Porridge, Boxty, Coddle and Black Pudding.
Lovers of fine spirits will also get their money’s worth on a tour of Ireland. The Roe & Coe Distillery and the Old Jameson Distillery in Dublin are two of the most interesting whisky distilleries in the country. However, you can also discover small distilleries away from the capital of Ireland, where you can sample the Irish spirit, which has a somewhat milder flavour compared to Scottish whisky.
Special experiences in Ireland
Do you love honoured architecture? Then Ireland is your personal treasure trove. Visit the monastic settlement of Glendalough, Kilkenny with its beautiful castle or Limerick with King John’s Castle. You will encounter great history in Cobh, the last stop of the Titanic before it sank. Go even further back in time on the Dingle Peninsula at the Clonmacnoise Monastery and the Dysert O’Dea Church Ruins.
A visit to a traditional sheep farm will also be an unforgettable experience during your tour of Ireland. When else can you observe the animals up close and in the wild? And all this with a breathtaking view over the Atlantic coast.
